“What is this?” Romaine asked, when the the delivery came from Hampers with Heart. The boys gathered around trying to see inside the boxes and bags. “Are they presents?!” they asked with excitement.
The whole family had been facing one difficulty after another through out the year. Both parents had their work contracts finish up and had to both find new jobs and move house, which meant the boys had also changed schools and daycare. Everything in life changed several times and there were long seasons of not knowing how the bills would be paid, where they were going to live or how they would afford to eat.
“This is really good quality stuff!” Romaine exclaimed when she saw what was in the package. “How can I pay for this?” The deliverer explained how Hampers with Heart works. Someone from the community nominated them for a hamper as they knew they had been doing it tough. The people from the community donated items, funds and volunteered to put the hampers together and personally choose gifts for them. The costs are covered and their family can have a better Christmas.
“It makes such a difference having people to support you. Sometimes I feel like its just me, it’s just us. It’s good to know we are not going it alone.” Romaine expressed.
Nick made sure to contact us when he got home, saw the hamper and heard all about it. “Thank for everything,” he said.
