Volunteering Positions

If you would like to join our Warners Bay Sorting & Packing team, please contact 0466 842 101 and speak with our administration team about signing up.

There are a range of tasks we do including:

  • Packing toys to go to kids affected by poverty
  • Sorting Donations
  • Folding Bags
  • Preparing for our Garage Sale

What to wear:

  • Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Comfortable enclosed shoes

On your first day:

  • You will need to complete a volunteer form
  • You will go through an induction
  • Your supervisor will talk through what tasks you are able to do and how you can help

Other information:

  • We have several take away shops nearby for lunch

In the Woodrising centre there is a lovely bakery to buy lunch and there is a bus stop close by.

If you would like to join our Walk with a purpose team, please contact 0466 842 101 and speak with our administration team about signing up.

There are a range of tasks we do including:

  • Distributing bags into mailboxes
  • Folding blue coloured bags
  • Reading maps
  • Walking long distances

What to wear:

  • Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Comfortable enclosed shoes

On your first day:

  • You will need to complete a volunteer form
  • You will go through an induction
  • Your supervisor will talk through what tasks you are able to do and how you can help

Other information:

  • Your main base will be at our Boolaroo head office
  • You will be distributing in different areas each day
  • You must be able to walk long distances in this volunteer role

If you would like to join our Volunteer team as a driver, please contact 0466 842 101 and speak with our administration team about signing up.

There are a range of tasks we do including:

  • Driving trucks and vans
  • Collecting donations from houses
  • Reading maps
  • Manual Handling

What to wear:

  • Wear hi-viz shirt and comfortable pants you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Comfortable enclosed shoes

On your first day:

  • You will need to complete a volunteer form
  • You will go through an induction
  • Your supervisor will talk through what tasks you are able to do and how you can help

Other information:

  • Your main base will be at our Boolaroo head office
  • You will be collecting in different areas each day
  • An MR licence and good driving record is highly desirable.

Community Services Orders

If you are on Newstart through Centrelink, you may be required to do Work for the Dole as part of your mutual obligation worked out with Job Network.

Church 4 Life is an authorised host for ‘Work for the Dole’.

If you would like to join one of our teams to complete your WFD requirements, please contact us on 0466 842 101  and speak with your WFD consultant to get signed up.

We have a variety of tasks you can do to complete your hours. They are mostly indoors.

What to wear:

  • Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirty
  • Comfortable enclosed shoes

On your first day:

  • You will need to complete a volunteer form
  • You will go through an induction
  • Your supervisor will talk through what tasks you are able to do and how you can help

Other information:

  • We have several take away shops nearby for lunch.

If you have received a traffic penalty notice or court fine and are unable to pay it, you may be eligible to do unpaid work with us to pay it off through a Work and Development Order.

Community Correction Orders are a penalty that a Judge or Magistrate may give you for an offence. The Department of Corrective Services can arrange for you to do this community service with us if you are eligible.

Corporate Volunteering

Join our ‘Sorting & Packing’ party for the day. 

We have a variety of tasks that suit different abilities and personalities so let’s find a task or two that you’ll enjoy.

All these activities come together to send toys to poor kids overseas, books to kids in the Aussie Outback, provide jobs for Mums in developing nations, prepare items for our Giant Charity Garage Sales, rescue clothes from landfill and much more.

Task we do include:

  • sorting through donations to find someone’s new treasures
  • packing toys and bric a brac into boxes (Liz’s favourite kind of puzzles)
  • taking batteries out of toys (one of our sit down jobs)
  • folding blue bags ready to go into letterboxes
  • preparing books ready to go to other charities
  • playing “Find my Pair” with shoes
  • Using the super powers of a vacuum to make tiny things disappear
  • stacking and moving boxes and donations for our volunteers with big muscles
  • taking a walk down memory lane when you find a favourite toy from your childhood, a book you read in high school and having a chuckle at fashions from your teenage years

 Suitable for:
Groups, Language barriers, Disability

Time required:
Corporate Team Building Days can be arranged for hours that match your normal working day

Requirement:
Enclosed shoes, wear comfy old clothes, and a positive attitude.

Community Service
