Frequently Asked Questions

Our team collects from thousands of houses a day between 8am-8pm, providing a free service to the Hunter and Central Coast communities, and unfortunately every now and then a donation gets missed.

We sincerely apologise if we have accidentally missed your bags during the collection in your area. We appreciate ALL donations given, and so we ask that you give us the opportunity to send a driver back to your house to collect it when we are able to.

Please text us your address and let us know your donation was not collected on 0466 842 101

If it’s raining or looks like rain, please still put your bags out. Our drivers will collect in rain or sunshine.

However, please tie the top of the bags securely and if you like you can slip another bag over the top to prevent the rain from getting in.
Please don’t hide them on your verandah as we will not see them.

For any further questions or arranging an alternate spot to leave your donation, please call 0466 842 101

We LOVE this question!
Your donations will go to various places around the globe depending on where the needs are at the time.

Places they may end up include various countries in Africa, Eastern Europe and the Pacific Islands etc.

A portion of donations go up to our 3x Op Shops at Cardiff, Warners Bay and Tanilba Bay to provide quality and very affordable clothing for locals there. What doesn’t get sold joins the rest of the donations going to developing countries.

Any profits made from these sales are used for food parcels, community meals, crisis assistance for Australians, and other expenses such as shipping costs.

Yes! Donations can be dropped off at our Warners Bay Op Shop Monday to Friday 7am to 5pm and Saturday to Sunday 9am to 3pm at

250 Macquarie Rd, Warners Bay NSW

Please leave them in the op shop in the cages next to the fridges and our sorting party will bring them in. You are welcome to park right at the front door for easy access to the designated drop off area.

If you arrive outside Op Shop hours please pop your bags into the blue bins outside.

Alternatively, we do have clothing bins in some areas- Please check the FAQs section for bin locations.

We thank you for your kind donation and taking the time to drop them off to us!

It depends…

No- If it’s your area’s collection day, our drivers collect between 8am-8pm. As long as your donation is near your mailbox and clearly visible for our driver to see, it will be collected during this time.
However, if your donation is still there after these hours, please call 0466842101 and let us know so we send a driver back to collect it.

Yes- If you have a 5+ bags ready to donate and your area is not scheduled for a street collection, then please text your name, address and how many bags you are donating to 0466842101. We will contact you to confirm a day we will collect from your house.

We ask that you place any donations in front of your mail box so our drivers can see it. Please do not leave them anywhere else unless you have called us and let us know, otherwise the driver will not see it, and we also do not yet have your permission to collect from on your property.

Please call 0466842101 if you’d like to arrange an alternate spot to leave your donation such as front door, verandah or carport.

That is perfectly okay! You are more than welcome to give us as much quality clothes, shoes, linen, etc as you like.

Simply put them in any garbage or shopping bags you have spare at home, and place them near your letterbox on the day of collection.

Please no boxes or suitcases.

Our collectors usually have a whole day’s work ahead of them, so we cannot give a time as there are too many variables, however it will be between 8am and 8pm.

Please leave your bags out all day, so they are collected once the driver arrives in your street.

Yes! We are proud to be a registered not for profit charity and meet the requirements under the ACNC Act.

We love providing our free service to the Hunter and Central Coast regions and will continue to help as many people as we can, who have been affected by poverty and financial stress.

If giving to ‘not for profit charities’ is important to you, please always check that the organisation you are donating to is registered with the ACNC first.

We aim to get back to each area every 2-3 months for a street collection.
Our blue coloured bag will be delivered to your letterbox 3-7 days prior to us collecting in your area to give you some time to gather your donations.

Please pop your bag out on the specified weekday noted on the bag.
We do not collect on a weekly basis on that day

We’re sorry to hear you’ve missed your area’s collection day, but thats okay as we have some options for you;

If you have 5+ bags we will organise a day to collect your kind donation when we have a driver nearby. Please text 0466842101 with your address and how many bags you have.

If you have less than 5 bags, we suggest the following 3 options.

  1. You are welcome to drop it off at our head office on week days between 9am-3pm in the front foyer.
    250 Macquarie Rd, Warners Bay
  2. If you are able to fill extra bags to make up 5+ bags, please call us to request a pick up. Often people ask if neighbours or family have any clothes they’d like to donate.
  3. You may prefer to pop them aside until your area’s next collection. We try to get back every 2-3 months.

That’s totally okay, here are some options for you.
1- Ask family or friends if they have any clothes to donate, and add them to yours to make up 5 bags.

2- You are welcome to drop them off to our Warners Bay head office (250 Macquarie Rd, Warners Bay) in the Foyer area or near the front door.

3- You may prefer to pop them in one of our clothing bins. Check FAQ’s for location.

4- On street collection day you can put as little or as many bags as you like out. There is no requirement so you might prefer to wait until next collection.

The most important reason for on-selling the clothes is that it makes this whole process repeatable. In 1992 we sent two shipping containers of clothes to Mozambique where the people had so little that they were dressing themselves in tree bark – literally. Because the clothes were given away for free in Mozambique, we could only do the process twice before our funding dried up and we couldn’t continue.

With our current process of selling clothes at very affordable prices we are able to cover all the associated expenses of collecting and sending the clothes which enables us to repeat this process and help many more hundreds of thousands of people. Surplus profits can be used to help Aussies in need.

Thanks to Australians who generously donate quality items they no longer need, we are able to provide employment opportunities to those who may otherwise not have a job. These jobs help local people to provide for their families and help boost local economies.

Maitland- Maitland Riverside Plaza in the Kmart/Aldi carpark
(Bulwer st entrance)

Raymond Terrace- Terrace Plaza at the entry and under carpark ramp

There are a few ways you can help out your local charity Church 4 Life Clothing Collectors.

1.Volunteer- We have many departments that are always needing helping hands. We would love to hear from you if you are interested in volunteering. Learn more here.

2. Financial donation-  Providing a free collection service for the community is great, but it also means we have to maintain vehicles and pay for petrol.

3. Tell your friends- Recommend our free service to your friends. Let them know about how we help people locally, globally and environmentally. They can call us on 0466842101 or they can book a free pick up online here.
