What Happens To The Donated Clothes?

Most items are sold at very affordable prices which not only helps those buying them, but also helps provide a livelihood for many people who need work locally and globally.

Any clothing not needed locally, gets baled and shipped overseas. By up-cycling clothes, we are proud to say that we have kept thousands of kilograms out of landfill every year.

Church 4 Life is a registered Not For Profit charity through the ACNC. Any profits go directly back into charity expenses so we can continue to help local and global communities.

Some of the countries we have helped are Mozambique, Fiji, Bulgaria, India, Sierra Lione, Togo, Africa, The Middle East and more

We thank you sincerely for your continued support and donations!

The Purpose Behind Clothes Collection

In 1991, Pastor Richard Nash was burdened to send clothes to Mozambique. They were the poorest country in the world at the time and had been faced with war, drought and a hurricane.

After learning that people were dressing in tree bark because there was nothing else, he prayed, fasted and brainstormed with family, friends and church colleagues. Richard applied to the Australian High Commissioner for AU $20,000 for humanitarian aid to Zimbabwe and Mozambique. The funds were granted in January 1992 and we started collecting clothes.

Many Christian churches joined our mission and the clothes started flowing in filling a shipping container, and within months the clothes had been distributed to around 8,500 people. Two years later we repeated this process helping even more.

After another visit to Fiji and seeing the incredible poverty of some people, we asked ‘What can be done to improve their quality of life and help them earn a living?’

The end result is Church for Life Clothing Collectors.
