Laura was in a hard place and taking stock of her life when Hampers with Heart arrived, bringing hope.
A single parent, Laura was feeling the struggle and had been going non-stop for a long time. Her mum had offered to take care of the kids for a weekend and she’d had a moment to take a breath. Starting to feel the weight of it all she was really at the end of her rope, wandering how she could keep going.
When the Hamper with Heart delivery arrived she was stunned. She could hardly process it. She had to sit down right there on the door step.
At first she didn’t know what was happening and the delivery driver took the time to explain that someone from the community had seen her struggle and knew she could use the blessing of the hamper this Christmas. That person nominated her, the charity provided the goods and then members of the community came together to pack the groceries and pick Christmas gifts for her and her children.
She broke down. It couldn’t have come at a better time, bringing her hope when she needed it most.
“Thank you,” she said. It was so heartfelt. “Thank you.”
