Three-year-old twins Elinor and Letty were excited to help bring in the Hampers with Heart packages when they arrived at their home. The two girls eyes lit up when they saw the food and presents and the air was filled with hope and excitement.
The mum of five was shocked, she hadn’t expected anything like it. “Thank you so, so much,” she said.
It’s been a very tough year for all them, including their other two sisters Kailey age 9, Alanna age 4, and for Mum, Jess. The whole family have been taking on the toughest of times. Elinor and Letty’s older sister Shannon (age 5) was diagnosed with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma Cancer during 2021 and proceeded with about 18 months of chemotherapy. It was a long struggle only to find out at the end that the chemo hadn’t worked and there was nothing more the doctors could do.
It was more than three months ago the doctors said Shannon only had three months left to live.
“They decided to celebrate Christmas for the whole month of December because they weren’t sure if she’d make it to the 25th,” our driver explained. “Every day we have her is a miracle.”
The driver took a moment. “There were really good things in the hamper. It brought some hope and smiles. The little girls were so happy to receive their presents.”
