Debbie’s whole life changed when she heard about Church 4 Life on the recommendation of her brother-in-law.

After attending Pete’s Kitchen, she decided to volunteer at Church 4 Life Charities’ Warehouse in the Packing party. It wasn’t long before she was fully trained and became a Team Leader. Debbie made friends and built strong relationships while volunteering and was invited to the Church 4 Life Sunday services. Her love for Jesus was reignited, strengthened and encouraged.

“I feel like one of the family,” she explains. Debbie recently received the Newcastle Volunteer Service award of 2022 for her work at Church 4 Life Charities.

After bringing the Packing Party from a one day a week team to a full-time team, Debbie felt it was time for the next phase. Her heart is to connect with people in the community who, like she herself had been, may be feeling lonely or isolated. So, in team with some others, they started the Thursday morning group Coffee & Chat.

People from the local community are invited to come to the Multi-purpose hall at 32 Sixth Street, Boolaroo on Thursday mornings each week for a cuppa and a natter between 10am -12pm.
