Marian is a recently retired nurse and heard about Hampers With Heart on Newcastle’s Rhema FM, 99.7. “It’s the only station I listen to,” she told us enthusiastically.

Marion explained that while she was working, she was pleased to be able to drop gift items for the Hampers With Heart at the Church 4 Life Op Shop at Warners Bay. This year she was so excited to take the next step and get more involved.

“Now that I don’t have the shift work, I’m here to help,” she said with a laugh.

“It’s a good cause. I’ve never been in that situation, homeless, or without money in the bank. But I’ve been through lots of hardships myself, and I think it’s great what you’re doing.”

Is it something she would recommend to others? “Oh, for sure! You get more pleasure out of giving than getting yourself…I’m quite happy to give my time.”

Marian said she will definitely be back next year to help pack the hampers again.
