This year we had the privilege of working together with Kim from Home In Place in Maitland and Cessnock to deliver Hampers with Heart to those who need it most.
One of the staff from Home in Place heard about Hampers with Heart and knew that they the two charities could work together to make a difference in the community. People from the community donated financially, with food and gift items and by coming to the Hamper Packing Day. Home in Place had the contacts and ensured the families and members of the community received what was so, so needed. By working together the two charities could be a blessing while keeping the dignity and privacy of those who were receiving the hampers in tact.
“It was amazing to see the response. People were overwhelmed and touched. The biggest thing was feeling like they were seen, like there were people in the community who cared about them. And it was so good to know that they wouldn’t go without over Christmas. Each person received a gift, and it was the only one they got this year. It was the extra effort that made it so special.”
