Anita heard about Hampers With Heart in 2022 and offered two nominations and wanted to help more, but couldn’t at the time. So she was eager to help at the Hamper Packing Party in 2023! She already has plans to do more in 2024, by increasing her donations too.
“I really love that the hampers go to people who wouldn’t likely be putting their hand up for it, but you know they really need it. I loved being able to nominate someone who wasn’t going to other charities.
And this year, being part of the packing party, I’ve learned more about what the needs are, and that just because I haven’t been through hard times like this, doesn’t mean I should be ignoring it. It’s doing something for your community.
I was very isolated for a very long time, so I have struggled to even get out in the community, it’s very much out of my comfort zone. But I think I am very comfortable to come here. The church is very inclusive, so I have felt very comfortable.
I have been following Church 4 Life Charities for a while. It started with just one initiative and it’s so good the way it impacts this community, the wider community, and the international community. And I like that there’s a give and take in it too. You can give, which fills a need for you to sort your house out, but then it helps others. It’s like a cycle of giving. It’s been very inspiring.”
