She didn’t just find a job—she found a place to belong and to serve.
As a local Warners Bay resident, Lana had always known about the Church 4 Life Charities Op Shop. In late 2024, she dropped off donations and browsed the shelves, impressed by what was available to the community. As a donor, she believed that filling a blue bag or two made a difference—but she didn’t yet realise just how much.
A few years earlier, Lana had walked through a difficult season. After leaving a toxic relationship, she found herself starting over, rebuilding her life piece by piece. That journey shaped her. It grew a deep compassion for others doing it tough—and a quiet desire to give back.
So when she saw an advertisement in July 2025 for a Donor & Volunteer Coordinator role with Church 4 Life Charities, something stirred. It felt right. She applied straight away and prayed for the opportunity.
That call came.
After meeting with Gail and Emma, Lana began the very next week—stepping into more than just a role. She stepped into purpose.
Now, Lana loves coming to the warehouse each day. There’s laughter with driver Allan, warm greetings as volunteers arrive, and the light-hearted fun of Chase’s practical jokes. She connects with donors who truly value the service and has seen firsthand the impact behind every single donation. Those blue bags she once filled are part of something far greater than she imagined.
She’s also become a familiar and friendly voice to so many in our community. As the voice behind our “Clothes Line,” Lana spends her days speaking with donors, coordinating pick-ups, and making each person feel heard and valued. It’s a simple role on the surface—but one that carries deep connection and care.
Along the way, Lana has been growing in new and unexpected ways. She’s especially grateful that Church 4 Life Charities is investing in her future—giving her hands-on training and experience using AI tools that are helping future-proof her career. It’s more than skills. It’s confidence. It’s opportunity.
