Church 4 Life

She didn’t expect a Christmas hamper to change her life—but it did.

Before that moment, Sarsha’s connection to Church 4 Life Charities was simple. Like many, she had donated through the blue bags of Church 4 Life Clothing Collectors. It was something good to do—but she hadn’t really thought beyond that. She didn’t yet see the bigger picture.

At the same time, something deeper was stirring.

“I felt lost with no sense of direction or real purpose,” Sarsha shares.

For a long time, that feeling stayed with her. A quiet searching. A desire to belong and to be part of something meaningful. Then, just before Christmas last year, an opportunity opened to join the #HampersWithHeart team with Church 4 Life Charities.

And everything began to shift.

What Sarsha stepped into wasn’t just volunteering—it was love in action. A community of people giving their time with joy, working tirelessly to prepare hundreds of hampers for families across Newcastle, Maitland, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens and the Central Coast.

Each hamper was personal. Carefully packed. Thoughtfully tailored to each family—by name and age. No one was overlooked. No detail rushed.

“I saw the truly generous, caring and hardworking hearts of the Church 4 Life people,” she says. “They worked tirelessly and with so much joy.”

As the hampers went out, Sarsha realised she wasn’t just helping pack boxes—she was part of something bringing real hope into homes. Something that reflected the love of God in a tangible, deeply human way.

And in that moment, something changed within her.

What once felt empty began to fill with purpose. What once felt uncertain became clear.

“It made me so proud to be a part of the team.”

And when Christmas came to an end, Sarsha didn’t walk away.

She stayed.

Long after the hampers were delivered, she continued volunteering—now with a renewed sense of direction, belonging and joy. What she found wasn’t temporary. It was lasting. Church 4 Life Charities became more than a place to serve; it became a place she could call home.

Today, Sarsha carries a grateful heart and a clear sense of purpose. Her story is a beautiful reminder that when we step out to bless others, God often meets us there—and changes us too.

We are so thankful for Sarsha, and for every supporter and volunteer who makes moments like this possible. Because through Church 4 Life Charities, lives are being touched, purpose is being restored, and hope is being shared—one act of generosity at a time.
