Church 4 Life

Hayley is 13. Seth is 11. Jasmine is 5. They’re cousins — and they share something special.

A love for Church 4 Life Clothing Collector’s blue bins.

It began when Grandma Lynne encouraged a school holiday clean-out. Wardrobes were overflowing. Drawers wouldn’t shut. Shoes were piled in corners. Instead of squeezing everything back in, Grandma suggested they sort their clothes and donate what they no longer needed.

At first, it felt like a chore.

Now, it’s a tradition.

At the start of every new season, the cousins gather again. Hayley spreads her clothes across the bed, carefully deciding what still fits her style and what could bless someone else. She’s thoughtful about it. “If I haven’t worn it in a year, someone else probably needs it more than I do,” she says, folding a jumper she once loved.

Seth approaches it practically. He lines up his lawn bowls shirts, shorts and hats. If they’re too small into the donate pile they go. But he also thinks about the kid who might wear his old bowls shirt to their first junior competition. “Maybe they’ll play their best game in this,” he grins. When he learned the clothes help families and communities, he stood a little taller carrying his bags to the blue bin.

Jasmine just knows it makes her happy. She carefully chooses which clothes to keep and which ones to give. “This one can go in the blue bin,” she says seriously. “Another girl will love it.” Her generosity is simple. Pure. Joyful.

Together, they sort. Keep. Donate.

Once the piles are ready, they help each other pack the bags. Hayley double-checks everything is clean and neatly folded. Seth tries to squeeze “just one more shirt” into an already full bag. Jasmine insists on carrying her own small bag, even if it drags along the ground.

Then comes their favourite moment.

Walking to the blue bin. They take turns lifting the bags and dropping them through the slot. And they all smile when they hear it — the solid thunk as their donation bags drop into the bin.

It’s such a small sound, thunk. But to them, it sounds like kindness in motion. It represents something powerful — the chance to help someone they may never meet.

They don’t see themselves as extraordinary.

They’re just cousins who care.

Yet every bag they drop in keeps generosity moving. Every item given creates space in their wardrobes — and hope in someone else’s world.

Grandma’s wisdom shared. Small hands. Growing hearts.

And a simple blue bin making a difference.
