Hampers With Heart has come full circle in Wendy’s life.
As a 61 year old single mum of an adult son with Asperger’s being homeless and stuck in a hotel room as “emergency” accommodation for months on end hit her mental health hard. Then facing Christmas 2024, still in a hotel room with little hope of a home coming any time soon, Wendy felt very lost and alone. Then out of the blue, she was surprised with a delivery of a Hampers With Heart.
Wendy had found Church 4 Life on YouTube so enjoyed doing church online as she couldn’t attend in person. She’d seen Hampers With Heart promoted in our church but never expected someone to care enough about her to nominate her.
Wendy says: “I would like to thank Church 4 Life for all they have done for me. Firstly, for the spiritual help through the church and for the Christmas hamper when we were homeless. I made us feel as though someone did care in the hard times. This year I am helping fill Hampers With Heart so other people can feel loved and cared about in hard times. Thank you Church 4 Life for all you have done and DO! God bless everyone!”
One year later, Wendy and her son have a home to call their own and they are eager to help others who are doing it tough. This Christmas Wendy has saved money to sponsor a Hampers With Heart, donated groceries and gifts, she is volunteering each week as part of our Packing Party and she’s found another single Mum who is in the situation she was in last year to nominate!
From nominee to nominator, donor, volunteer and sponsor! Wow! Wendy really has the full experience of the joy of being SEEN and receiving at Christmas and the joy of giving to others.
