Shop Local with us This Christmas

7 Nov , 2018,

There is something wonderfully special about wandering through local shopping malls uncovering unique treasures and enjoying a G’day with the community folk who work there. In the quest to express our love for family and friends at Christmas, it is often in the small business where the hunt for the perfect gift leads us.

This Christmas season Church 4 Life Op Shop at Tanilba Bay is inviting you to #shoplocal with us at the Kooinda Centre in President Wilson Walk, Tanilba Bay.

Shopping local is a proven way to help your local community, the environment and yourself. It’s the kind of Win Win Win we go for at Church 4 Life Op Shop.

Did you know that when you buy at a local small business $73 from every $100 stays in your community? When you buy through a big chain only $43 for every $100 stays local. That’s a big difference in a small community like ours.

Shopping local is a trend we’d like to see grow in the Tillegary and like every trend it starts with you and it starts with me.

You can start your #shoplocal trend today by dropping into our op shop. It’s tucked in the back right hand corner of the Kooinda Centre on President Walk Wilson. Wandering in through these gates to find that perfect Christmas gift for your loved one, a new toy for your fur baby, a cheap grocery item or a fun novelty for your work Secret Santa gift.

When you drop into in our Op Shop you will find a whole range of brand new and high quality used items including:

  • Clothes (same big brand names, never worn, with original tags)
  • Gifts
  • Linens like blankets, sheets, towels, curtains
  • Grocercies
  • Toys, puzzles and games
  • Shoes, handbags
  • Electrical items
  • Homewares
  • Jewellry
  • Craft items
  • Dog toys and towels
  • And much, much more

Watch this TedX Talk to learn more about the value of #shoplocal

We hope to see you enjoying #shoplocal this Christmas.

Replacing your Tools this EOFY?

Donate your old Tools to Build Hope in poor communities!

End Of Financial Year is great for cashing in on tax incentives for new tools, but what happens to the old?

Feel good taking from the tax man while feeling great giving to the poor man.

Church 4 Life Clothing Collectors sends power tools and hand tools to developing countries. Donations help tradies in poor countries to build and repair their communities. Jobs are created and Dads can provide for their families. Don’t leave your old tools getting rusty, donate to give them new life overseas.

What are we looking for?

Any tool you use at work everyday—drills, hammers, measures, shovels, saws, sanders…. plumbers, carpenters, electricians, mechanics, gardeners, boiler makers tools… if it’s a tool a tradie will use and is in good working order it’s probably perfect. Call or text 0466 842 101 if you have questions.

Tools can be dropped off at Church 4 Life Clothing Collectors at 3/75 Mitchell Rd Cardiff

South African Cricketer Peter Pollock is coming to Tanilba Bay

In the 60’s and 70’s Peter Pollock shook the international cricket world with his fast bowling ability and won the Wisden cricketer of the year in 1966. A well known author, journalist, businessman and sports executive, Peter is also the father of former South African Cricket Captain Shaun Pollock. Yet with all his success Peter discovered that he needed more in his life than sport, fame and family. He needed what only Jesus Christ offers to find true peace in life.

Join us on Friday 18th May at 5:15pm to hear Peter share his story.

Meet with us at Church 4 Life Op Shop, Kooindah Centre, 61 President Wilson Walk, Tanilba Bay.

Endless Praise Leads to Endless Worship

Church 4 Life was honoured to be lead in worship by the amazing band Endless Praise last Sunday. A huge thank you to Spencer, Anthony, Mekalah, Hayley, Nelson, Steve and Sandra for sharing your talents with us last Sunday. Your personal stories inspired us and God touched our hearts.

What a laugh we enjoyed as Gwylam, Robert and Josh feared the Philistines and Lucas (no David), fought a very short Goliath. We hope to see you again soon!

National Day of Fasting and Prayer 10 February 2018

Church 4 Life is honoured to join with Christ followers across Australia as we fast and pray together for our nation. Will you join us on Sunday 10 February 2018 for this vital and moving spiritual moment.

Jesus said in Matthew 6:5 “And WHEN you pray…” and in verse 16 “And WHEN you fast…” not IF we pray and IF we fast. So it is a commandment we should all follow, to pray and to fast.

There is great power when God’s people join together in prayer. Our national needs so much prayer at this time. We need the Holy Spirit to move across our land and draw the people we love to a living, real relationship with Jesus Christ.

Here’s some ideas of how to pray:

  • Pray for our leaders – local, state and federal government, leaders of business, police, defence and education, pastors and influencers.
  • Pray for Aussie battlers – those struggling with finance issues, relationship issues, illness, joblessness and the homeless. Pray for the ministries and charities and Centrelink who help people with these needs.
  • Pray for our safety and our soldiers. We are blessed to live in a peaceful land, yet our defence force needs our prayer as they fight on our behalf to keep us safe.
  • Pray for Aussie families, for strengthening of marriage and family relationships.
  • Pray for revival, that it will start in us and move through our church and communities.
  • Pray for new Aussies – new immigrant, refugees and international students.
  • Pray for our farmers – many parts of our land are struggling under drought. Let’s pray for our food provision.
  • Pray for those who are seeking the truth, peace, forgiveness and peace that only Jesus Christ can give, that they find Him this year.
  • Take a moment to think of all the people you saw today – coworkers, shop assistants, truckies, the doctor, your neighbour, boss, kid’s teacher, actor on tv…. take a moment and pray for them, as real people. Let the Holy Spirit guide you as you pray.
